Forgot to add a photo? Need to paste a signature? Inserting an image into a finished PDF is a common need.

Method 1: Use a PDF Editor (Easiest)

You don't need to convert back to Word. Use a PDF Editor.

  1. Go to Percime PDF Editor
  2. Upload your PDF
  3. Select the Image tool in the toolbar
  4. Upload your picture (JPG or PNG)
  5. Drag and resize it to place it exactly where you want
  6. Download the updated PDF

Method 2: Mac Preview

  1. Open PDF in Preview
  2. Edit > Insert > File (Select image) - Note: This sometimes adds it as a new page.
  3. Alternative: Open the image in Preview, copy it (Cmd+C), then paste (Cmd+V) into the PDF page.

Method 3: Convert to Word

If you have major edits to make along with the image:

  1. Convert PDF to Word
  2. Insert images freely in Word
  3. Save back as PDF

What about Signatures?

If the "image" is just your signature, look for a Sign tool in your PDF editor. That allows you to draw or type a signature without needing an image file.

Conclusion

Modern web tools like our PDF Editor make placing images into PDFs as easy as sticking a photo on a collage. No software required.
